Please join us for the third and final launch event for This is the Gallery and the Gallery is Many Things X and 3-Phase
Doors open from 6pm, with a special performance by Libita Clayton & Truemendous at 7.30pm.
New works in the main gallery include Ruth Ewan’s Glasgow Schools poster works, an enamel sign by Jenny Holzer, photography by Amaal Said curated by Aliyah Hasinah, and a formation of science fiction paintings by Ana Kazarof curated by B.Dewitt Gallery and Teresa Cisneros.
In the second gallery we’re launching the third and final 3-Phase show – Mark Essen: Build a Wall. Mark will build a barrier that talks about lives, invisible walls constructed by governments, maintained by factions of society and the media, prohibiting the most vulnerable from being part of wider society.
We’re also hosting the ESP Winter Art Fair and launching Publication Happens which pulls together Write Club’s collective writings produced over the last eighteen months.
And if you need sustenance, the magnificent Ubuntu bread will be serving delicious traditional South African food, and the bar will be open.
Everyone is welcome – there’s loads going on across Digbeth including Grand Union’s Christmas Party and Recent Activity Studio Outlet so come on down!
