STEAMhouse Phase 1: Site Visit #4

Thursday, 15 June 2017
5.30 – 6.30 pm

We found out about the exciting plans for STEAMhouse on a pre-renovation tour of the Phase 1 building led by Clayton Shaw (Birmingham City University) and Ruth Claxton (Eastside Projects).

STEAMhouse Phase 1 is a new 15,000 sq ft centre for creative innovation, developed by Birmingham City University in partnership with Eastside Projects. It will open on Digbeth High Street in Autumn 2017 and will house co-working space and substantial new fabrication facilities with equipment and staffing to support production and making in the areas of digital, wood, metal and print with spaces to incubate new ideas and prototype new creative products.

STEAMhouse is funded by Arts Council England through the Creative Local Growth Fund and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) .
