Join us for an online studio visit with Will Fredo in conversation with Eastside Project’s Candice Nembhard. The conversation will focus on words and performance relating to Will’s current practice alongside their work in development for the forthcoming LOOP exhibition at Eastside Projects in the autumn.
Studio Visits offer an informal opportunity to gain an insight into the working practices of artists and an early introduction to work you will be able to see in the gallery in the future. Listen, watch and ask questions as artists talk about ideas they are developing, what they are making and how they are making it.
Will Fredo is a non-binary artist, writer and editor exploring power dynamics, cultural dislocation and the intersection of pop culture, decolonial thought, kuirness, Blackness and technology. Born in Portugal of Guatemalan and Cape Verdean heritage, Will is based in Berlin, Germany. Since 2017 Will is part of Contemporary And, an art platform focused on African perspectives, as the Deputy Editor. In their artistic practice Will Fredo works with images, body and text to explore decoloniality and Global South epistemologies.
