As part of our Production Show, the artists Heather and Ivan Morrison are designing homes that can ‘pop up’ in different places. They have to find a way to balance stability and lightness – a challenging task!

Inspired by their need to make something mobile but also stable enough for people to live, work and play inside, this family workshop entered the world of unusual builds, alternative architecture and situations where bricks and cement just won’t do.

Imagining Heather and Ivan Morrison’s huge metal and silicon framework as the centre hub of a new, alternative city in the gallery space, we created accompanying dens, pods and capsules to make a world of temporary spaces for ourselves.
