Away Weekend: Liverpool
22 to 23 July 2016
ESP is off on its jollies again and heading to Liverpool to visit the Liverpool Biennial the free festival of newly commissioned contemporary art by 40 artists from around the world including Eastside Projects’ Director Celine Condorelli. We’ll spend 2 jam-packed days seeing the biennial on a programmed tour with introductions from artists and curators.
Founded in 1998, Liverpool Biennial has commissioned 268 new artworks and presented work by over 400 artists from around the world. The 2016 edition will unfold through the landscape of the city and is organised as a story narrated in several episodes: fictional worlds sited in galleries, museums, pubs, unused spaces, stations, hotels, shops and supermarkets. To find out more visit Liverpool Biennial website.
The deadline for accommodation bursaries has already passed but if you’re making your own plans and want to join the tour, let us know and we’ll share the itinerary. If anyone plans to drive, we can organise a car-share to keep travel costs to a minimum.
