To coincide with the public presentation of new work from Jack Harris’ Heterotic Residency organised by Eastside Projects, funded by Turning Point West Midlands and hosted by Primary, Nottingham, ESP members made a visit to the city. The day offered introductions to artist-led spaces Trade and Attic, a talk at commercial gallery SYSON, and a visit to Nottingham Contemporary. It concluded with Harris’ performance of immersive and environmentally-minded improvised music at Primary.

The day’s schedule is as follows:

11am: Meet at Nottingham Contemporary
Introduction to Nottingham Contemporary with Assistant Curator Sarah Cluggish followed by time to view shows by Asco and Geoffrey Farmer
12.30-1.30 Lunch
1.45pm: Meet Bruce Asbestos at TRADE, 1 Thoresby Street
2.15pm: Tour of Attic, 1 Thoresby Street
Walk across town to SYSON
3pm: Introduction to SYSON by Director, Jennie Syson
View show: PLEASURE VOYAGE, new work by Candice Jacobs
4pm: Introduction to Near Now programme at Broadway with Creative Producer Mat Trivett, followed by coffee and chats
5.30pm: Introduction to Primary with Niki Russell
6.30-8pm: Performance event by Jack Harris and collaborators, Primary
