WHAT IS EOP?

Extra Ordinary People (EOP) is a community of artists that has been at the heart of Eastside Projects since 2008. Everyone is welcome.

Through EOP we work to create the conditions for artists and practices at all stages to thrive. We do that by organising events, workshops, opportunities and projects, sharing knowledge, making connections and helping to build mutually supportive networks. There are currently around 350 members.

WHY JOIN?

EOP Members benefit from:

  • Free entry to most Eastside Projects events, talks and workshops
  • Access to the EOP programme of workshops, events and socials.
  • Access to regular online workshops programmed by The Kaleidoscope Network which focus on developing skills, sharing knowledge, and connecting artists across England.
  • Opportunities to share work and make connections through projects including the EOP Summer Camp, Away Days, EOP Studio, The Exchange, Crit Clubs and the EOP Winter Art Fair.
  • The opportunity to book a face-to-face or online 1-2-1 with a member of the Eastside Projects Team once every 6 months.
  • A profile on the Members section of the EOP website and the opportunity to share projects and news on our members activity page and the @xordinarypeople Instagram.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

  • Membership costs £5 a month or is free if you have Global Majority heritage, or if you are a Disabled, D/deaf or Chronically Ill person. Global Majority is a collective term that refers to people who are Black, Asian, Brown, Mixed Heritage, Indigenous to the Global South and/or are not racialised as White.
  • All income is invested directly into the EOP programme so if you can afford to pay please consider it.
  • We take payments by monthly direct debit.
  • We reserve the right to end a membership at any time if we feel a member has acted in a way that is not in line with our Code of Conduct or which does not align with our organisational values.

I AM IN … HOW DO I JOIN?

If you are paying for membership please complete all three steps below.

If you are eligible for free membership please complete steps one and two.

Click on the buttons below to complete each step.

1. For you to get the most out of EOP and Eastside Projects, we need to know about you and your practice – this step will take about five minutes. Click on the red block to open up the questionnaire.

2. We collect information about our members backgrounds to understand who is joining EOP and monitor whether applications for EOP opportunities reflect the makeup of our community. We would really appreciate it if you could fill out our Equal Opps Survey by clicking on the button below. There is a ‘do not want to answer’ option on all questions. Click on the red block to open up the questionnaire.

    3. For Step 3 please select “Add to basket” below and set up your payments for your membership. This is your final step to being a member. Membership is £5 per month. If you are entitled to free membership, you do not need to complete this step!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

A member of the Eastside Projects team will get in touch to say hello and welcome you into EOP. We are a small team and sometimes – particularly when we are installing shows – might be a bit slower to respond. If you don’t hear from us within two weeks of applying, drop us an email on info@eastsideprojects.org and we will check your membership is live.
