The World Reimagined: Artist Open Call

Deadline: 31 December 2021

The World Reimagined is a new, ground-breaking national art-education project to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Slave Trade and its legacy. They will have trails of large globe sculptures in 8 cities across the UK from August to October 2022.

The globes will be featured in sets of ten in each city. Each globe will become a point in a 60-90 minute walking trail. Each globe will be decorated by different commissioned artists who will respond to one of the nine themes provided.

The World Reimagined is currently seeking submissions from artists who want to create their own designs using the globe sculptures as a canvas. You can be from anywhere in the country, have any background, and be at any stage of your career and/or studies.

Confirmed commissioned artists include Founding Artist Yinka Shonibare CBE, Lina Iris Viktor, Kimathi Donkor, Lakwena Maciver, Zak Ové, Nicola Green, and Maxim.

Submissions close at 5pm on 31st December 2021. Commissions are paid. For more information, click here.
