SUMMER CAMP 2022: SUMMER CAMP SHOW OPEN CALL

Summer Camp is back in the gallery and online – slightly later in the year, but with the same spirit!!!
Summer Camp is an opportunity for EOP members to try out ideas, experiment, and take over Eastside Projects culminating in the Summer Camp Show where EOP members are invited to show work as part of the Summer Camp Show, along side work made by members selected for micro residencies and the performance platform.
KEY DATES
Summer Camp Show Launch: Digbeth First Friday 7 October, 6–8pm
Summer Camp Show runs: 8–15 October, Wednesday-Saturday 10am–6pm

EOP Summer Camp Show
Registrations have now closed.
Registration Deadline: Wednesday 7 September, 10am
All EOP members are invited to share work at the EOP Summer Camp Show, there are no selection requirements all work that is compatible with our Code of Conduct will be shown.
- Each member can showcase one piece
- Work must have been created within the last two years
- 3D work maximum size of 1m x 1m x any height
- 2D work maximum size of 1m x 1m
If your work is larger than this we may be able to accommodate it but it will depend on space. Please note moving image works are to be shown on the showreel and/or STREAM.
You will need to get your work to the gallery on:
- Thursday 6 October, 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm
- Friday 7 October, 11am-12pm
And collect it from 19–22 October
Registration, questions you will be asked:
- Your name and contact details
- Title of the work
- Dimensions of the work
- Work materials, with a short practical description (eg. A painting made from local foods, including tomato puree and milk)
- One image of the work (maximum file size 1MB – this is important as we have limited storage capacity)
SHOWREEL
Online and in the gallery: 7–15 October
The Summer Camp showreel of artists’ moving image and sound works will be screened in our second gallery and online on our digital platform STREAM.
As long as you are an EOP member, and the work is compatible with our Code of Conduct, we will show it on STREAM. The gallery showreel will be two hours long and so will be made up of a selection of submissions received.
Each EOP member can submit one piece of work to the showreel.
Work must have been made in the last two years.
Key information for the second gallery screening:
- Works must be no more than 10 minutes long
- If your work is included you will need to share your file via a file sharing service such as WeTransfer or Google Drive.
Key information for STREAM:
- Video and sound works will need to be hosted on your own account, (Vimeo/ Youtube/Soundcloud). Please make sure they are not password protected.
- Web-based artworks can be embedded onto STREAM, but please don’t just submit artist website links
- Work can be any length
How to take part
Registrations have now closed.

Please add ‘Summer Camp’ as the email subject
- A short statement about the work and/or your practice (max 150 words)
- Links to your social media profile and/or website
- Tell us where you are based
- Where you would like your work shown (gallery or STREAM or both)
- A link to your work (Vimeo/Youtube/Soundcloud /webpage etc)
- A landscape format image that represents your work that we can use in the STREAM index – maximum file size 1MB
