Production Show ESP Residency

Production Show ESP Residency
17 May – 4 June
Application Deadline: Sunday 24 April

Eastside Projects invites applications from ESP members for the first ESP Production Show residency.

From widgets to houses, from the gallery to the World, ‘Production Show’ is a public acting out of our impulse to develop and support the making of culture in challenging times, and an attempt to reclaim Birmingham as a city of production.

The selected ESP member will be given the opportunity to prototype, develop, test and produce new work in the second gallery/workshop at Eastside Projects from 17 May – 4 June. The successful practitioner will be supported by a fee of £742.50, up to £257.50 for a materials budget, critical feedback and practical support from Eastside Projects staff.

Though the focus of this residency is the production process, and the development of new work and ideas rather than exhibition making, there will be an opportunity to share the results of the residency at Digbeth First Friday on Friday 3 June if appropriate.

The gallery/workshop will be available to use from 17 May – 4 June and we expect the successful practitioner to spend 12 days working at Eastside Projects, this could be 4 days a week across the 3 week period or can be completed in a more intensive block. You can access the space Tuesday – Saturday, 10-6pm. Please state in your application how you imagine you would plan your time during the residency.
