EOP Thinkers – Help shape EOP

Deadline extended, 27 July!

Deadline: 27 July 2021

We are looking for five EOP members to become “EOP Thinkers” and explore with us what EOP is and what it might look like in the future.

This is a chance to give specific feedback about your experiences being an EOP member whilst reflecting on what we do and how we might shape the programme in the future.  The group will meet on a quarterly basis and contribute to discussions framed around specific questions or concerns. The EOP Thinkers form part of a wider family that contribute to Eastside Projects development including the Cultural Citizens and Advisory Board. You can find out more about who else makes Eastside Projects happen, HERE.

Who are we looking for?
We would like to hear from EOP members that represent the breadth, depth and richness of what EOP is. You might have joined recently or be a long-standing member you might be based in Birmingham or live elsewhere, you might have recently become an artist, or have an established practice. Maybe you enjoy what EOP offers, or want to offer critical feedback.

We aim to build a group that is representative of the EOP community, and the world around us so would particularly welcome expressions of interest from Black people, Asian people, people from a Global Majority background and Disabled or D/deaf people.

We are not looking for people who have all the answers, we are looking for a range of voices, ideas and opinions, which bring in different perspectives so we can think alongside each other as we move forward.

How it works
We are hoping to find five individuals who will work with us across 12 months from August 2021 and be actively engaged in the programme (either physically or online). The EOP Thinkers will attend four meetings across the year to talk things through, feedback and reflect on their experience with Amelia Hawk (EOP and Public Programmer) and Ruth Claxton (Artist Maker). The first meeting will be on Friday 27 August, 2–3.30pm. Subsequent meetings are anticipated to be November / February / May.

Each EOP Thinker will be paid £50 for their contribution to each meeting. Meetings will initially be online, but we hope at least some will be over lunch in the gallery. Travel costs can be covered.

Expression of interest
To submit an expression of interest send an email or voice note to amelia@eastsideprojects.org by 27 July 2021. Include information about yourself and why you would like to be an EOP Thinker and what you would like to contribute to the discussions.
