Liverpool Biennial Away Day – Apply Now!!!

Deadline: 4 August 2025

EOP members are invited to  hit the North and join us on an Away Day to check out the Liverpool Biennial on Thursday 4 September.

The 13th edition of the Liverpool Biennial, titled ‘BEDROCK’, includes work by over 30 artists and collectives.

The theme draws on Liverpool’s distinctive geography and the beliefs which underpin the city. It is inspired by the sandstone which spans the city region and is found in its imposing architecture. ‘BEDROCK’ also acts as a metaphor for the social foundations of Liverpool and the people, places and values that ground all of us. Find out all about it HERE

We’ll be kicking off the day with a coffee with the Biennial’s curator Marie Anne McQuay who’ll give us the low down on her curatorial approach, and then we will visit several of the projects and exhibitions that are a part of it, meeting some more of Liverpool’s finest along the way, to get under the skin of arts and culture in the city.

WHAT’S AN AWAY DAY

We run regular EOP Away Days to different cities where we visit galleries, exhibitions and offsite projects as a group, meeting some of the people who make things happen on the way. They are a really great way to meet new people and start new art chats. The nature of these days means they are usually fairly intense with a lot of walking between venues. If you have access needs that might make this difficult we suggest you drop an email to info@eastsideprojects.org so we can have a chat.

WHAT’S ON OFFER?

  • The Away Day will take place on Thursday 4 September. You will need to arrive in Liverpool for 11am and leave after 6pm.
  • We have space for up to 12 EOP members.
  • We can offer travel bursaries of up to £50 (you will just need to send us an invoice with receipts to claim)
