EOP Thinkers – Open Call
Deadline, 14 September
Following a successful pilot year we are looking for five EOP members to become the EOP Thinkers for the next 12 months, and work with us to shape what EOP is, how it supports members, and what it might look like in the future.
The EOP Thinkers meet four times a year to give feedback about their experiences, reflect on all aspects of the EOP programme, and discuss how we might develop in the future. They form part of a wider family that contribute to Eastside Projects’ strategic development including the Cultural Citizens and Advisory Board. You can find out more about everyone who makes Eastside Projects happen, HERE.
Changes implemented as a direct result of this year’s conversations include introducing ‘Welcome to EOP’ events and member-to-member emails for new EOP’ers and refreshing the colour scheme on the EOP website to make it more distinct and easy to navigate.
Who are we looking for?
EOP members make EOP, and we want to reflect this by hearing from members that represent the breadth, depth, and richness of what EOP is. You might have joined recently or be a long-standing member, you might be based in Birmingham or live elsewhere, you might have recently become an artist, or have an established practice. Maybe you enjoy what EOP offers, or want to offer critical feedback.
We aim to build a group that is representative of the EOP community, and the world around us so we particularly welcome expressions of interest from people with Global Majority heritage and Disabled or D/deaf people.
We are looking for a range of voices, ideas, and opinions, which bring in different perspectives so we can think alongside each other as we move forward.
How it works
We are hoping to find five individuals who will work with us across 12 months from October 2022 and be actively engaged in the programme (either physically or online). The EOP Thinkers will attend four meetings across the year to feedback and reflect on their experience, and explore specific areas for development with Eastside Projects’ Artist Caretaker and Artist Maker (Ruth Claxton).
Meetings will be a mix of online, and IRL over lunch in the gallery. Each EOP Thinker will be paid £50 for each meeting they attend. Travel costs will be covered, if you have additional access costs or needs please just let us know in your application. The first meeting is likely to be in late October.
Expression of interest
To submit an expression of interest send an email titled EOP Thinkers as a written expression of interest or voice note to borbala@eastsideprojects.org by Monday 14 September. Include information about yourself, why you would like to be an EOP Thinker, and what perspectives you think you could offer.
