EOP Summer Camp Micro-Residencies – Call for applications
Deadline: 14 May 2023
Need to try things out? Want to see your work in a different space? Want to get some feedback?
This year we are offering bursaries to support five Midlands based EOP members to occupy the gallery for a micro-residency leading up to the Summer Camp Show.
The micro-residency runs from 25–28 July. You will be able to use the space from 10am–5pm.
Each residency artist will receive a bursary of £400.
We are looking for artists who want to use the space and time to test ideas and try out work in ways they wouldn’t usually be able to. Residents will receive informal support from the Eastside Projects team and take part in a group sharing on Thursday 27 July to discuss ideas and work.
The outcomes of the micro-residency will be shown as part of the Summer Camp Show, opening on Digbeth First Friday, 4 August 6–9pm and continuing on Saturday, 5 August, 12–5pm.
There will be access to some tools and equipment. If you think you might need something specific to realise your ideas, or have any access needs please mention this in your application.
Please note we are not able to help find accommodation. We are imagining that as residents are Midlands based they will return home each evening.

HOW TO APPLY
There is no brief. It’s only four days (10am–5pm) so we are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have work that’s already in progress, that you want to expand, get out of your studio, and test in a space supported by conversations with others. We welcome proposals from EOP Members working in all media from painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation to performance, video, sound, and everything in-between.
You’ll find an online application form HERE
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday 14 May
