EOP Members Project 2024 – Call for Proposals

Deadline: 13 November 2023

We are looking for ambitious proposals from artists or artist-curators for the 2024 EOP Members Project.

This is an opportunity for an EOP member to realise a project with the support of Eastside Projects as part of our core artistic programme. We want to invest our time, energy and resources into an ambitious proposal which supports someone to make a step change in their practice by developing new work or realising ideas which would not otherwise be possible.

Previously this opportunity has focussed on the production of an exhibition in our second gallery, whilst this is still a potential outcome, this year we are not defining the form the final project should take, opening out the possibility for members to also propose performances, participatory projects, events series, gatherings etc.

Before you apply, we recommend you check out some of the previous members projects by Natasha Macvoy, Bijan Moosavi, Leah Clements, Lindsey Mendick, Luke Routledge and Freya Dooley. This open call opportunity has also been the start of other projects including large scale commissions by Emii Alrai and melissandre varin. For many of these artists the Members Show was one of the first times they made a project with an organisation like ours.

The successful proposal will receive:

  • £2,000 artists fee
  • Up to £2,000 for production and other costs related to making the project including materials, fabrication, travel, accommodation, transport, installation, technical support and per diem.
  • £75 towards artist healthcare and wellbeing.
  • Curatorial support and mentoring from members of the Eastside Projects team
  • The opportunity to co-develop an event alongside your project as part of our public programme

Proposals for solo or curated projects are welcome, but if you work collaboratively as part of a duo or group or are applying to curate a project the fee and budget must be shared. Please note that Eastside Projects pays artists a minimum fee of £250 for existing work and £500 + production for new commissions. Find our full fee structure HERE and please bear this in mind when developing your idea.

We particularly welcome applications from members with Global Majority heritage, or those who identify as disabled or d/Deaf. We are keen to support all members to apply and welcome conversations with artists around access needs. If you would like to discuss any access needs in advance of applying please email info@eastsideprojects.org to arrange a chat.

If you are proposing an exhibition it will take place in our Second Gallery you will find a floor plan below. Or check out the space in one of our virtual tours.
