ESP members had 1-2-1 sessions with London based artist Nicole Bachmann, whose works are sites for examining the connections and similarities between the construction of language and the making of things. Thinking about language as material, the rhythm of making, cadenza of speech and construction of language and things. She uses the voice and the spoken word for its rhythmical, melodious and narrative qualities to draw out and create a subtle link between the objects in the installations and the spoken text, though none of them being an illustration of the other, but part of a wider net of relationships.
Meetings happened at Eastside Projects or in members’ work spaces.
