ONLINE Workshop: Applying for DYCP Funding

Friday, 14 April 2023
1 – 2.30 pm

Arts Council England’s Developing your Creative Practice (DYCP) grants support the development of independent cultural and creative practitioners.

You can apply for up to £12,000 to take a dedicated period of time to focus on your own creative development and undertake research, development, and other activity that will take you to the next stage in your practice.

Round 17 closes for applications on 27 April, but there are four deadlines each year this workshop has been designed to give you a good grounding if you are thinking about applying in this round, or in the future.

In this informal session, led by Ruth Claxton, we will talk through how to write a DYCP bid and go through the guidance together. It will also be an opportunity to get feedback on application plans.

We strongly advise you to take a look at the resources on Arts Council’s website in advance so you can familiarise yourself with the process and identify any questions that you have.

You will find the guidance at www.artscouncil.org.uk/developing-your-creative-practice/dycp-how-apply

This workshop is exclusively for EOP members – find out how to join HERE

About Ruth

Ruth Claxton is an artist and co-founder of Eastside Projects. Over the last fifteen years she has been involved with an array of Arts Council bids writing successful Project Grant applications for herself, other artists, the Birmingham Art Map and Workshop Birmingham; National Portfolio and Cultural Recovery bids which over the last decade have sustained funding for Eastside Projects; and a £500,000 Creative Local Growth Fund grant for STEAMhouse Phase 1. She’s supported lots of artists to develop DYCP bids, so has seen loads of different applications and has become a dab hand at translating funding speak into easy-to-understand information.
