Toolkit: Application Writing with Zoë Lippett

Thursday, 5 April 2018
6.30 – 8pm

Zoë Lippett, Exhibitions and Artists’ Projects Curator at The New Art Gallery Walsall, gaave a toolkit about application writing.

Drawing on her experience of assessing applications, selecting for residencies and creating opportunities for artists, Zoë guided us through a range of different ways to present work and practice in different contexts, sharing top tips on producing great written applications, standout artists statements and more. This informal session was a great opportunity to ask all those burning questions and share our experiences.

Zoë Lippett has fifteen years experience working in regional galleries and museums, predominantly in curatorial roles. Since 2012, she has worked as Exhibitions and Artists’ Projects Curator at The New Art Gallery Walsall, where she curates a programme of exhibitions, artist projects and residencies. Since joining the Gallery in 2012, Zoë has initiated studio opportunities for 40 artists and produced numerous exhibitions, ranging from major loan exhibitions and solo projects with emerging artists to large-scale touring exhibitions with international artists. These projects often involve new commissions and the presentation of previously unseen work.

Recent and forthcoming exhibitions include: Noemie Goudal: The Geometrical Determination of the Sunrise (2014-15, touring to Foam Fotografiemuseum), Eva Rothschild: Alternative to Power (2016-17); Andrew Gillespie: Anti-Scrape (2017); Wilderness (2018); Amalia Pica (2019).
