Eastside Projects Director Ruth Claxton and Syllabus II participant Faye Claridge took part in an informal information sharing and Q & A session about The Syllabus – exploring out how it works, how it is co-developed with participants, who is involved and what we are looking for in applications for this year’s programme.
The Syllabus is a peer-led alternative learning programme developed by Wysing Arts Centre, Eastside Projects, Iniva, New Contemporaries, S1 Artspace, Spike Island and Studio Voltaire. We are currently looking for participants for the third year which will run from September 2017 – July 2018.
Syllabus III will provide selected artists with a series of intensive sessions, led by each of the partners and co-developed with those selected to participate.
* Syllabus III is open to artists based in the UK.
* Applicants should have been out of formal education for approximately 4 years. We are also interested hearing from applicants who have not progressed through formal art training routes.
* We aim to establish a cohort that represents a diversity of cultural perspectives and artistic practices and would welcome applications from a wide geographic spread across the UK.
* We are looking for applicants who want to both develop their own work and actively contribute to the development of the curriculum for Syllabus III
For more information on the programme, contributors and application process please read the Syllabus applicant info 2017.
