ONLINE Workshop: Reading Room x cringe and commitment
Thursday, 16 November 2023
6 – 8pm
Booking coming soon!
NewBridge’s Reading Room invites Craig Pollard to explain: how can people engage with theory in a relevant way? How do artists use bigger critical ideas on society and turn them into elements of artistic practice? How can we make use of resources like the Reading Room?
Using his talk/publication cringe and commitment after the end of history as a starting point, Craig will use his own project as a lens for you to view the possibilities open to your own practices.
This is a meeting of networks as Kaleidoscope exists in Newcastle, Bristol, Nottingham and Birmingham, and Reading Room exists in Newcastle, Rotterdam, Brighton, Cardiff, Southend, Leeds and Peterborough.
This event is organised by The NewBridge Project for the Kaleidoscope Network – a collaboration between Spike Island (Bristol), Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Primary (Nottingham) and The NewBridge Project (Newcastle). Formed in response to a need for mutual support, the network has come together as a way to share resources, increase what each partner is able to offer and create new connections between communities of artists.
EOP members are also automatically Kaleidoscope Network members. Keep your eyes peeled for more upcoming events organised by our partners that you can also attend for free.
