ONLINE Workshop: Making your website work for you with An Endless Supply
Thursday, 28 September 2023
6.30 – 8pm
Not sure if your website is working? Need to develop your web presence but don’t know where to start?
Too often artists’ websites are hard to navigate, often because people are too close to the work so can’t see when key information is missing, struggle to edit what they put online so end up confusing rather than engaging, or when site structures are hard to navigate.
Led by Harry Blackett from An Endless Supply, this workshop will begin with a short introduction to all things web including top tips on how to build a site, where to host, and what to think about when putting one together in terms of structure, layout and visual identity.
This will be followed by smaller, informal breakout group discussions where participants can share their own websites and get feedback as people use them for the first time. This is a great way to learn how the user experience feels for people who are new to your site and to get suggestions and tips from other participants and Harry that will help you develop and improve it in the future.
An Endless Supply is a design studio in Birmingham, UK, established in 2011 by Harry Blackett and Robin Kirkham. They work with artists and organisations making websites, printed matter and identities.Recent projects include websites for Shezad Dawood, Rural School of Economics, Cooking Sections, Woven in Wa and Kathrin Böhm.
This event is organised by Eastside Projects for the Kaleidoscope Network – a collaboration between Spike Island (Bristol), Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Primary (Nottingham) and The NewBridge Project (Newcastle). Formed in response to a need for mutual support, the network has come together as a way to share resources, increase what each partner is able to offer and create new connections between communities of artists.
EOP members are also automatically Kaleidoscope Network members. Keep your eyes peeled for more upcoming events organised by our partners that you can also attend for free.
