Workshop: Clay Meditation

Thursday, 5 July 2018
6.30 – 8pm

Ian Giles lead his Clay Meditation workshop as part of the Member Led Workshop series. The workshop invited participants to collectively pause, listen and centre. Taking place in Another Reality, each participant was given a small amount of clay to paint one another’s faces with. The clays drying time allowed space for meditation.

In collaboration with Ian Giles, artist and composer Diana Policarpo developed a soundscape to accompany the meditation. Following the workshop we shared some fresh green tea and shared approaches to centring the mind in order to avoid anxiety or procrastination.

Ian is also a part of the Grand Union programme Three Modes for Change taking place at Centrala from 1-9 June.
