Torsten Lauschmann (Born 1970, Bad Soden, Germany. Lives and works in Glasgow.) Torsten Lauschmann’s diverse practice continually shifts and plays with the production, expectation and falsity of image. Concerned with the aesthetic content of image his practice centres on the mechanics with which they are created, both in the manipulation of technology and the action or situation that they represent and originate from. Recent solo exhibitions include Nought to Sixty, ICA, London, Arnolfini, Bristol and Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow, all 2008. Group shows include run,run, Collins Gallery , Glasgow (curated by Alex Frost and Sorcha Dallas), The Autonomy of the Object, Cooper Gallery Dundee and Radio Days, De Appel, Amsterdam. He is represented by Mary Mary, Glasgow.
