Mohammed Ali (b. 1978) is a street artist who was brought up in the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham. His murals often merge the style of Western graffiti with traditional Islamic calligraphy and iconography and can be seen on the streets of New York, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne, Birmingham and Dubai. He was awarded a South Bank Show Award in 2009, and was recently been invited to speak at the first Tedx to take place in the Vatican state, on the theme of religious freedom.
