Eastside Projects is based in Digbeth in the centre of Birmingham, in a free public gallery twenty-minutes walk from New Street and Moor Street Stations. We commission artists, make art, curate exhibitions, programme events, work alongside communities, create production facilities, produce public art projects, generate and apply research, develop talent, train future art leaders and create structures to support artists to make art public.
Extra Ordinary People (EOP) is Eastside Projects’ Artists Development scheme. EOP works with a network of almost 300 artists, curators and art-writers to support the development of work, ideas, connections and careers through a programme of events, opportunities and projects. Membership costs £5 a month and all income is invested directly into EOP activity. Membership is free if you have Black, Asian or Global Majority heritage, or if you are a Disabled or D/deaf person.
As would be necessary for operating a machine or learning a subject, a manual may be helpful when encountering Eastside Projects for the first time. Our User’s Manuals explain what the space is made of, how it was set up, how we work, how we think, how it can be used and what it can offer.
